Bluetext is seeking a Web Development and Deployment Manager to join our leading digital agency . In this role, you will lead the end-to-end execution, and optimization of web-based solutions with a strong emphasis on deployment technologies, version control, and server management. You'll work closely with offshore developers and internal teams to ensure that projects are delivered smoothlyfrom development through deploymentusing industry best practices and cutting-edge tools.
This position will support offshore development teams and may occasionally require work outside standard business hours.
Key Responsibilities
Own the deployment lifecycle of web development projectsincluding technical discovery with clients, content model and integration guidance, handling blockers, code pushes and database migrations between environments, and launches.
Implement and manage deployment tools and pipelines (e.g., GitHub, GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Bitbucket, Jenkins, FTP/SFTP workflows).
Collaborate with internal and offshore teams to define technical requirements, project scope, and deployment timelines.
Manage version control systems and coordinate code pushes and merges across multiple environments.
Set up and maintain web servers, staging environments, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, DigitalOcean, or similar).
Serve as the technical liaison between project stakeholders and development teams, ensuring alignment on priorities, timelines, and expectations.
Conduct code reviews and oversee QA processes to maintain high-quality, performant, and scalable applications.
Troubleshoot deployment and environment-related issues; ensure rollback strategies are in place when necessary.
Ensure all projects comply with security best practices, performance benchmarks, and SEO standards.
Guide junior developers and enforce consistent coding and deployment practices across teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in web development and deployment management roles.
Proven experience with Git-based workflows (e.g., GitHub, GitLab), CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment tools.
Proficiency in PHP, WordPress, Drupal, and front-end technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/ES6+).
Strong understanding of responsive design, web performance optimization, and cross-browser compatibility.
Familiarity with JavaScript libraries like Axios, Lodash, and Moment.js.
Experience with server configuration, DNS, SSL, and CDN management.
Ability to independently manage projects and provide hands-on technical leadership.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
