Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer

The Sr. Snowflake Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain scalable data processing solutions to support healthcare analytics, system integrations, and enterprise reporting. This role involves working with large-scale healthcare data and developing Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines in a cloud environment.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day administration of Snowflake environments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Manage Snowflake configurations, including warehouses, databases, schemas, users, roles, and resource monitors.
• Monitor and optimize platform performance, availability, and cost utilization.
• Implement and maintain Snowflake security controls, including:
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Masking policies
  • Row access policies
  • Governance and monitoring features
• Troubleshoot and resolve Snowflake performance, pipeline, and access-related issues.
• Design and implement data sharing, replication, disaster recovery/failover, and backup strategies.
• Maintain platform documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Ensure adherence to enterprise privacy, security, and data governance standards.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to distributed and offshore Snowflake administration teams.

Experience

• 10+ years of overall experience in data engineering, data architecture, or data platform roles.
• 4 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake architecture and administration.

Educational Qualifications

• Engineering degree: BE / ME / BTech / MTech / BSc / MSc
• Technical certifications across multiple technologies are preferred.

Required Skills

Mandatory Skills

• Strong expertise in:
  • Snowflake architecture, administration, performance tuning, and cost optimization
  • Data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling
  • Advanced SQL
  • Python (preferred)
• Experience designing and managing ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Strong understanding of Snowflake security and governance features.
• Hands-on experience with scripting and automation tools such as Bash, Terraform, or similar technologies.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification is preferred.
