We are seeking an experienced Skid Steer Operator to support the setup and preparation of a temporary encampment facility supporting Marine Corps training operations at MCAS Yuma.

So, what will the Skid Steer Operator at Terrestris do?

The Skid Steer Operator will assist with site preparation, material movement, and general equipment support during the installation of tents, generators, and supporting camp infrastructure.

What does a typical day look like for the Skid Steer Operator?

You will:

  • Operate skid steer equipment safely and efficiently to support encampment construction and logistics operations.
  • Assist with site preparation, including grading, leveling, and clearing designated camp areas.
  • Move and stage materials such as tents, generators, pallets, fencing, and camp infrastructure components.
  • Support tent city layout and setup, including positioning equipment and materials according to site plans.
  • Assist with placement of barriers, fencing, and privacy screening as directed by site supervisors.
  • Load and unload trucks delivering equipment and camp supplies.
  • Maintain situational awareness and follow all base safety and operational procedures.
  • Conduct daily equipment checks and reports any maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with project supervisors and ground crews to ensure efficient workflow.

What qualifications do you look for?

You might be the professional we're looking for if you have:

  • Proven experience operating skid steer loaders in construction, logistics, or site preparation environments.
  • Ability to perform grading, material handling, and equipment maneuvering in confined work areas.
  • Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures and job site safety standards.
  • Ability to work outdoors in desert conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Must be able to follow direction from project leadership and coordinate with ground crews.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting military installations, training ranges, or temporary camp setups.
  • Familiarity with construction site logistics and equipment staging operations.
  • OSHA construction safety training or equivalent.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit and operate heavy equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. when assisting ground crews.
  • Ability to work in high temperatures and dusty environments typical of the Yuma area.
