We are looking for a Materials Engineer in Corning, NY. Join Our Client, a world-leading innovator in materials science! Bring your BS in Geology or Material Science, 0-3 years experience, and optical microscopy skills to do world-changing work!

salary: $28.66 - 40.12 per hour
work hours: 8am to 4pm
education: Bachelors

responsibilities:

• Prepare glass and refractory material samples through cutting, mounting, epoxying, grinding, and polishing.

• Analyze samples and identify crystalline phases using optical methods like stereomicroscopy and polarized light microscopy.

• Conduct advanced imaging and chemical analysis using SEM, EDX, and XRD equipment.

• Manage internal work requests to ensure optimal turnaround time, accuracy, and experimental efficiency.

• Maintain laboratory operations while compiling data and preparing reports for engineering and geology staff.
