Your New Role

  • Work on-site in Portland, Oregon as the primary construction bookkeeper

  • Manage full-cycle accounting for construction projects

  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Maintain accurate job costing, WIP reporting, and percent complete accounting

  • Process customer billing, progressive billing, and retainage

  • Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on collections

  • Manage vendor payments, lien waivers, and notices

  • Prepare financial reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close

  • Generate financial reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

  • Maintain fixed asset schedules and monitor cash flow

  • Partner with project managers to ensure accurate project cost tracking and profitability

  • 3 or more years of construction accounting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or related skilled trades

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent construction accounting experience

  • Strong knowledge of job costing, project accounting, WIP reporting, and percent complete accounting

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel

  • Experience with document management systems such as DocuWare

  • Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP and certified payroll reporting

  • Experience with progressive billing, Schedule of Values, and retainage

  • Experience handling lien waivers, notices, and collections

  • Ability to manage accounts payable and weekly AR aging

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
