Work on-site in Portland, Oregon as the primary construction bookkeeper
Manage full-cycle accounting for construction projects
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
Maintain accurate job costing, WIP reporting, and percent complete accounting
Process customer billing, progressive billing, and retainage
Monitor AR aging reports and follow up on collections
Manage vendor payments, lien waivers, and notices
Prepare financial reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
Generate financial reports using QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Maintain fixed asset schedules and monitor cash flow
Partner with project managers to ensure accurate project cost tracking and profitability

3 or more years of construction accounting experience in plumbing, HVAC, or related skilled trades
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent construction accounting experience
Strong knowledge of job costing, project accounting, WIP reporting, and percent complete accounting
Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
Experience with document management systems such as DocuWare
Familiarity with payroll systems such as ADP and certified payroll reporting
Experience with progressive billing, Schedule of Values, and retainage
Experience handling lien waivers, notices, and collections
Ability to manage accounts payable and weekly AR aging
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
Clear written and verbal communication skills
