Job Title: Sr. Java API Developer with DevOps Exp (Hybrid)

Location: Nashville, TN (In-Person Interview)

Job Type: Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced API Developer to join a dynamic DevOps team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable RESTful APIs while supporting CI/CD pipelines and collaborating within an Agile environment. This role is primarily remote but may require occasional onsite availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services
• Contribute to API development (approximately 85%) and documentation (approximately 15%)
• Create and maintain technical documentation using tools like Jira and Confluence
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, business analysts, and scrum masters
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies and provide input during team discussions
• Support and maintain CI/CD pipelines for efficient deployment
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing applications
• Ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met
• Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation within the development process

Required Skills & Technologies

• Strong experience with Java development
• Experience with RDBMS (Relational Databases)
• Build and dependency management using Maven
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Tekton
• Familiarity with Red Hat technologies , including OpenShift and 3Scale
• Experience with JBoss application server
• Proficiency in RESTful API development
• Version control using Git (Bitbucket)
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies
• Experience with Jira and Confluence

Soft Skills

• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a remote Agile environment
• Ability to clearly explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills

Additional Qualifications

• Understanding of software development processes and best practices
• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and modern development practices
